PM Shehbaz in Saudi Arabia to attend ‘One Water Summit’
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently in Saudi Arabia for a two-day visit to represent Pakistan at the “One Water Summit.”
He is joined by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Tariq Fatemi.PM Shehbaz Holds Telephone Talks with Malaysian PM
The Summit, a joint initiative by Saudi Arabia, France, Kazakhstan, and the World Bank, aims to foster global collaboration and establish a unified international strategy for managing water resources through high-level political commitments.
During the Summit, the Prime Minister will deliver a keynote speech focusing on the restoration, conservation, and adaptation of freshwater resources and wetlands.
He will also emphasize the efforts being made by Pakistan to promote water conservation, enhance climate resilience, improve water quality, generate livelihoods, and protect biodiversity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz will stress the importance of international cooperation in addressing the effects of climate-induced floods, unpredictable and extreme weather patterns, and heat stress on water resources and ecosystems.
Additionally, he will call for significant global collaboration for sustainable management of water resources.
On the sidelines of the event, the Prime Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings and engage in various diplomatic discussions.
