Operation Jaffar Express: Security forces successfully eliminate all 33 terrorists

ISLAMABAD: The security forces have successfully eliminated all thirty-three terrorists, including suicide bombers, while rescuing the hostages in a phased manner in the Operation Jaffar Express.

As per the ISPR, Jaffar Express, which was en route from Quetta to Peshawar, came under attack by heavily armed militants near Sibi.

After sabotaging the railway tracks, the militants seized control of the train and took the passengers, including women, children, and the elderly, as captives, using them as human shields.

The security forces responded swiftly to the emergency. Demonstrating exceptional bravery and professionalism, our heroic soldiers confronted the militants with precision, and after a prolonged, intense, and daring operation,

The security forces successfully eliminated all thirty-three militants, including suicide bombers, while rescuing the hostages in a step-by-step process.

Sadly, during one phase of this fierce standoff, the militants claimed the lives of 21 innocent hostages before the clearance operation began.

Furthermore, 4 courageous soldiers of the security forces made the ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom. Their selfless actions saved many lives and prevented further tragedy.

The security forces of Pakistan are working diligently to provide support and assistance to the families of the victims and the freed hostages.

A sanitization operation is also underway in the area, and those who aided this despicable and atrocious act will be brought to justice.

Intelligence reports have clearly confirmed that the attack was planned and led by terrorist leaders operating from Afghanistan, who maintained direct communication with the attackers throughout the incident.

Pakistan urges the Interim Afghan Government to honor its responsibilities and prevent the use of its territory for terrorist activities against Pakistan.

The ISPR further stated that the security forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their determination to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.

It emphasized that the sacrifices of innocent civilians and our brave soldiers only strengthen our unyielding commitment to protecting our nation at all costs.
