SCO Summit: Chinese Premier arrives in Pakistan tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: At the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Premier of the State Council of China, Li Qiang, will begin a bilateral visit to Pakistan tomorrow (Monday).23rd SCO Heads of Government Council Meeting

Premier Li will be accompanied by ministers and senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the China International Development Cooperation Agency.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Premier Li Qiang will lead their respective delegations in extensive discussions covering all facets of Pakistan-China relations, including economic and trade ties as well as collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Both sides will also discuss regional and global developments. Additionally, the Chinese Premier will meet with President Asif Ali Zardari and engage in talks with parliamentary leaders and senior military officials in Pakistan.

Premier Li is also scheduled to attend the Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, taking place in Islamabad.

This visit highlights the importance that Pakistan and China place on their enduring strategic cooperative partnership. It will offer both sides an opportunity to reaffirm mutual support on key issues, promote the high-quality development of CPEC, and enhance regular exchanges regarding significant regional and global matters.
