ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to host the twenty-third meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) from October 15 to 16, 2024, in Islamabad.
In his role as the current Chair of the CHG, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will oversee the upcoming meeting.IESCO Guarantees Uninterrupted Power Supply During Shanghai Conference
The SCO member states will be represented by the Prime Ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with the First Vice President of Iran and the External Affairs Minister of India. The Prime Minister of Mongolia (Observer State) and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan (Special Guest), will also take part in the meeting.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will conduct significant bilateral discussions with the visiting Heads of Delegation during the meeting’s sidelines.
The CHG meeting will focus on ongoing collaboration in areas such as the economy, trade, environment, socio-cultural ties, and will evaluate the Organization’s performance. The leaders are expected to make important organizational decisions to further strengthen cooperation among SCO member states and approve the Organization’s budget.
