Call on the Prime Minister by SCO Secretary-General, Mr. Zhang Ming

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed SCO Secretary-General Mr. Zhang Ming in Islamabad today, who is in the city for the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting.

Recalling Mr. Ming’s previous visit to Pakistan in July 2022, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the support provided by the SCO Secretariat in organizing the CHG meeting.SCO-CHG meeting signs important documents to strengthen economic, trade cooperation

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the SCO Charter, the Prime Minister assured the Secretary-General that Pakistan would continue to work diligently towards promoting the organization’s development priorities for the benefit of all member states and the broader region. He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to collaborate with other SCO Member States to enhance the organization’s effectiveness and strength.

The Prime Minister also thanked Mr. Ming for his dedication and exceptional service as the outgoing Secretary-General of SCO, wishing him success in his future endeavors.

In response, Mr. Ming congratulated the Prime Minister on the successful organization of the SCO CHG meeting and its positive outcomes. He appreciated Pakistan’s constructive contributions to the SCO’s activities and expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s leadership role as the Chair of the SCO CHG.
