Islamabad: Punjab is gearing up its digital transformation to position itself as a hub for blockchain innovation, online trade, and decentralized finance.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has made these remarks during a high-level meeting with a delegation from the World Liberty Organization. Organisation is a US-based group reportedly backed by President Donald Trump.
The delegation consisted of Zarry Folkman, Zarry Witkoff, and Chase Hero. Bilal Bin Saqib, head of the Pakistan Crypto Council, attended the meeting to underline the strategic focus on digital finance.
Blockchain Integration in Punjab’s Economic Framework
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has underscored Punjab’s strategic agenda to integrate blockchain technology in key economic sectors.
Discussions focused on the tokenization of real-world assets, including natural resources, agricultural commodities, and mineral wealth.
She has stressed the importance of deploying stablecoin solutions to enhance transparency and improve digital transaction performance, along with ensuring financial security. The Chief Minister has also called for a modern regulatory framework to govern cross-border remittances, digital payments, and global financial integration.
“Punjab is moving ahead rapidly in digital technology and online trade,” she said, reinforcing her government’s resolve to lead the region in digital transformation.
Vision for Digital Leadership
The Punjab government wants to develop a comprehensive digital economy roadmap to facilitate secure financial transactions.
The main objective is to improve remittance efficiency and promote decentralized financial systems (DeFi).
The CM said that Punjab is ready to partner with global tech and finance leaders to build a robust digital ecosystem.
The World Liberty Organization’s delegation presented economic models based on decentralized finance, which included blockchain-backed tokenization and asset verification frameworks.
Maryam Nawaz has appreciated the group’s forward-thinking economic strategies and has shown her commitment to transforming Punjab into a digital powerhouse.

During the meeting, they also reviewed Punjab’s ongoing partnerships with financial institutions and tech firms. The CM has shared updates on key initiatives under her digital governance vision. She noted the province’s commitment to creating a future-ready, tech-driven economy.
