President appoints Justice Yahya Afridi as CJP
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has designated Supreme Court Justice Yahya Afridi as the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Justice Yahya Afridi’s appointment is effective for a three-year term starting from October 26.
The President made this appointment in accordance with Articles 175A (3), 177, and 179 of the Constitution.Justice Yahya Afridi Recommended as New Chief Justice of Pakistan
In the meantime, the Ministry of Law and Justice has issued a notification confirming Justice Yahya Afridi’s appointment as Chief Justice of Pakistan for the specified term.
