Pakistan’s desire for peace isn’t weakness: PM
RAWALPINDI: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has asserted that while Pakistan is committed to maintaining a peaceful neighborhood, this aspiration should not be interpreted as a sign of weakness.
He made these remarks during a ceremony at GHQ in Rawalpindi this evening to commemorate Defence and Martyrs Day.
Armed forces ready to respond to any challenge: President
The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan has consistently worked towards global peace. Nevertheless, he emphasized that Pakistan will never compromise on its sovereignty and freedom.
He noted that this day serves as a reminder of the unparalleled sacrifices made by our courageous soldiers who fought valiantly for the nation.
Shehbaz Sharif paid heartfelt tribute to those who lost their loved ones in the battle against terrorism.
He reaffirmed that the Pakistani armed forces will persist in their efforts against terrorists within the country.
Regarding the severe human rights abuses being perpetrated by occupying forces in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, Shehbaz Sharif once again called on global leaders to step forward and fulfill their roles in promoting peace in the region.
In light of the ongoing Israeli violence and aggression in Gaza, the Prime Minister urged the international community to raise its voice, as it directly impacts the humanitarian situation in Palestine.
