ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has stated that Pakistan’s military forces are alert and fully prepared to tackle any threats to national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and are also ready to combat terrorism.

He made these comments during the ceremony marking the addition of two newly constructed warships, PNS Babur and PNS Hunain, to the Pakistan Navy fleet in Karachi on Defence Day.

He noted that the incorporation of these warships into the Pakistan Navy will greatly enhance the country’s maritime security.

The President highlighted that a robust navy ensures the protection of the nation’s sea borders. Asif Ali Zardari also expressed appreciation to the Turkish and Romanian governments for their support and collaboration.
