Nationwide Showers Forecast as Monsoon Grips Pakistan

Much of Pakistan is expected to receive widespread rain over the coming days as monsoon currents intensify across the country.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rain, wind, and thundershowers for multiple regions, including East and South Punjab, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The PMD added that isolated showers may also occur in parts of southeastern Sindh. Seasonal low pressure over north Balochistan is drawing moisture-laden winds inland, strengthening the ongoing monsoon system.

While the rainfall will provide much-needed relief from the heat in many cities, authorities have warned that heavy downpours in northern and hilly areas could trigger flooding.
