Ayaz Sadiq for consistent reforms in parliamentary process
ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, emphasized the importance of continuous reforms in the parliamentary process, stressing that past mistakes need to be rectified.
While addressing the inaugural session of the 18th Speakers Conference in Islamabad on Thursday, he underscored the challenges faced by a speaker in balancing the interests of both the government and the opposition.

Ayaz Sadiq called for the introduction of training workshops at universities and colleges to educate students about parliamentary procedures.
He also highlighted the crucial role of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in ensuring transparency, revealing that billions of rupees had been recovered through PAC recommendations.
The Speaker further advocated for legislative bodies to prioritize critical issues such as climate change, economic stability, and unemployment. He emphasized the need to institutionalize the forum to guarantee continuity, unity, and collective progress.
During the conference, Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Awais Qadir Shah, stated that the Speaker must remain impartial, unbiased, and neutral to ensure the smooth functioning of the house. He described the Speaker’s office as a bridge that connects the members of the House.
Awais Qadir Shah also called for proactive measures to address the issue of misinformation.
