PCB confirms venue for Sri Lanka ‘A’ tour to Pakistan
Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Islamabad Club will host a five-match series, featuring both red and white-ball formats, between Sri Lanka ‘A’ and Pakistan Shaheens in November.
As previously announced, this marks the first tour of Pakistan by Sri Lanka ‘A’. They will play two four-day matches from November 11 to 21, followed by a three-match 50-over series on November 25, 27, and 29.Rizwan confirmed as Pakistan’s white-ball captain
Sri Lanka ‘A’ is set to arrive in Islamabad on November 7 and will conduct training for three days before their first four-day match against the Shaheens, starting on November 11.
For both four-day matches, the toss will occur at 9 AM PKT, with the first ball to be bowled at 9:30 AM PKT. The three 50-over matches will be day-night fixtures, with the toss scheduled for 1:30 PM PKT and the first ball at 2 PM PKT.
The PCB continues to invest in its young talent, as the Shaheens prepare for their second home series within three months. Earlier in August, Bangladesh ‘A’ toured Islamabad for two four-day matches and a three-match 50-over series.
In addition to their home series this year, the Pakistan Shaheens have also played two four-day matches against Bangladesh ‘A’ in Darwin, Australia, participated in two 50-over games against Northern Territory and Bangladesh ‘A’, and competed in the Top End T20 series. Recently, the Shaheens also took part in the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Muscat.
