All arrangements finalized for SCO meeting in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to host the twenty-third meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the 15th and 16th of this month in Islamabad.23rd SCO Heads of Government Council Meeting

As stated by the Foreign Office Spokesperson, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will chair the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting in his role as the current Chair.

The prime ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will represent their respective SCO member states, alongside the First Vice President of Iran and the External Affairs Minister of India.

The Prime Minister of Mongolia, representing an Observer State, and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, a Special Guest, will also take part in the meeting.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will engage in significant bilateral discussions with visiting heads of delegations on the sidelines of the meeting.

The SCO Council of Heads of Government will address ongoing collaboration in areas such as the economy, trade, environment, and socio-cultural connections, as well as evaluate the Organization’s performance.

The leaders will make key organizational decisions to further strengthen cooperation among SCO member states and approve the Organization’s budget.

In the meantime, all preparations have been completed to host the meeting in an esteemed manner.
