Achieving sustainable development Pakistan’s top priority: Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to achieving sustainable development as a top priority.

Speaking at a high-level discussion on the increasing global debt burden on developing nations during the World Economic Forum in Davos, he highlighted the government’s efforts to cut expenditures and reduce debt servicing.Govt determined to improve digital infrastructure: Aurangzeb

He noted that the country’s debt-to-GDP ratio has improved, decreasing from 78% to 67%.
The Finance Minister outlined Pakistan’s strategy to address challenges such as population growth, poverty, and environmental issues through a ten-year partnership program with the World Bank, aimed at fostering sustainable economic development.

He further emphasized that the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will prioritize business-to-business collaboration, encouraging Chinese companies to relocate production units to Pakistan.

He expressed optimism that these initiatives could position Pakistan as a key export hub for Chinese enterprises.
