Widespread Internet Outage Frustrates Users Across Pakistan
Internet users across Pakistan are facing serious disruptions, with reports of slow speeds and service failures from major providers such as Nayatel and PTCL. The issue, which appears to be affecting both international and local access, has left users frustrated.
Nayatel’s Technical Assistance Center issued an internal update explaining that multiple problems are contributing to the disruption. One major issue involves an upstream provider responsible for handling eastbound international traffic, leading to unstable connections and slower speeds.
Additionally, Microsoft services including Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive have experienced widespread outages across the country. These tools are used by businesses and individuals nationwide, compounding the impact.
In a further blow, websites and applications that rely on Cloudflare’s network are also affected. Many users have reported difficulty accessing platforms hosted through the company’s infrastructure, with some sites not loading at all.
Nayatel clarified that these problems are distinct but overlapping, making the situation more difficult to resolve. Other ISPs have confirmed experiencing similar technical difficulties, suggesting that the issue is not limited to one company.
Technical teams are reportedly working on identifying the root causes and restoring services, though no estimated time for resolution has been shared.
