Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce Visits IPO-PAKISTAN Headquarters
ISLAMABAD: The Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan) hosted a significant visit by the Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, at its headquarters on Wednesday. Dr. Bhatti was cordially welcomed by Chairperson Ambassador (Retd.) Farukh Amil, Director General Ms. Shazia Adnan, and other IPO officials. During the visit, the Chairperson and Director General delivered a detailed presentation, outlining the organization’s key responsibilities and contributions. The discussion covered IPO-Pakistan’s pivotal role in advancing Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), such as Trademarks, Patents, Copyrights, and Geographical Indications. The Parliamentary Secretary was briefed on the organization’s initiatives, including public awareness campaigns on IPRs, capacity-building programs, and streamlined processes for registering intellectual property. The presentation emphasized the critical role of intellectual property protection in fostering economic growth, driving innovation, and supporting entrepreneurship in Pakistan.
Dr. Bhatti commended the organization for its efforts and acknowledged its vital contribution to promoting IPRs in the country. He appreciated IPO-Pakistan’s initiatives to create an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurial ventures, which are essential for Pakistan’s economic progress.
