Uzbekistan Airports summarizes 2024 results: 30% increase in passenger traffic

ISLAMABAD: The management company of Uzbekistan Airports has reviewed the performance of 2024, highlighting remarkable growth in all major metrics. The year saw record-breaking figures in passenger numbers and flight operations across Uzbekistan’s airports.

By the conclusion of 2024, Uzbekistan’s international airports handled a total of 113,622 flights, with 80,213 flights serving international destinations and 33,409 flights operating on domestic routes. This marks a 33% increase compared to 2023.

Passenger traffic also surged, reaching 13,503,199 individuals in 2024—a 30% growth from the 10,409,609 passengers recorded in 2023. Out of the total passenger count, 11,022,840 traveled internationally, while 2,480,359 used domestic flights.

Resident airlines operated 73,969 flights, transporting 8,735,996 passengers, whereas foreign airlines conducted 39,653 flights, carrying 4,767,203 passengers during the year.

Cargo operations also expanded significantly, with 87,461 tons of freight and mail handled—a 23% increase compared to the previous year.

In 2024, Uzbekistan’s airports welcomed nine new passenger airlines, including World2Fly and IberoJet (Spain), WizzAir (Hungary), Batic Air (Malaysia), LOT Polish Airlines (Poland), Qatar Airways (Qatar), Ajet (Turkey), TezJet (Kyrgyzstan), and FlyAdeal (UAE). This reflects the country’s rising prominence as a tourist hub and its strengthened global aviation connections.

The accomplishments of 2024 underscore the consistent growth and advancement of Uzbekistan’s aviation sector.
