Urea Sales Likely to. Drop in April 2025
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Urea sales in Apr-2025 is expected to clock in at 251k tons, down 24% YoY compared to 238k tons in Apr-2024. Similarly, Urea sales is expected to decline by 18% MoM.
This will take 4M2025 offtake to 1.35mn tons, down 37% YoY compared to 2.1mn tons in 4M2024, mainly due to weak farm economics and water shortage.
This is likely to take closing inventory of Urea to be around 1.16mn tons in Apr-2025, up from 820k tons in Mar-2025. Inventory level of urea is likely to be highest in 94 months.
Company wise, EFERT has the highest inventory of 545k tons followed by FFC 291k tons, and FATIMA 278k tons.
Among the companies, Engro Fertilizers (EFERT) is expected to record increase of 7% YoY in urea sales to 81k tons in Apr-2025 due to low base effect amid plant turnaround and disparity in urea prices. To highlight, EFERT announced a price discount of Rs100 per bag starting Jan-2025 and has continued to capture the market share.
Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) is expected to record a Urea sales of 108k tons (down 52% YoY) followed by FATIMA 42K tons (up 56% YoY) in Apr-2025.G2G Urea Import Deal Proposed
Total DAP sales during Apr-2025 is anticipated to be around 104k tons, up 12% YoY and 113% MoM. In 4M2025, total DAP offtake are anticipated to clock in at 254k ton, down 33% YoY.
Company wise data suggests, FFC and EFERT are likely to record sales of 54k tons and 31k tons respectively, followed by others of 19k tons in Apr-2025.
Closing inventory of DAP is likely to be around 186k tons in Apr-2025 compared to 187k tons in Mar-2025 and 117k tons in Apr-2024.
