UN calls for ending violence in Bangladesh

NEW YORK: The United Nations has urged an end to the alarming violence in Bangladesh and highlighted the necessity for the government to stop targeting nonviolent demonstrators.


In a statement, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk expressed significant concern over the situation, including an upcoming large-scale march in Dhaka.Energy Minister Assures Textile Sector to Resolve Issue


He called on political leaders to safeguard the right to life, as well as the freedoms of peaceful assembly and expression.


He emphasized the crucial need for accountability in cases of human rights abuses.
