Technology use in health sectors being increased for better results

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the increasing use of technology across all health sectors, including polio eradication, to modernize public healthcare processes and achieve better outcomes.

He was speaking to the national anti-polio team, which met him in Islamabad. The Prime Minister expressed concern over the rising number of polio-affected children in Pakistan, calling for intensified collaborative efforts to address the issue.

He directed that a systematic schedule of visits by relevant officials to polio-affected areas should be prepared during the anti-polio campaign to enhance the effectiveness of these drives. Shehbaz Sharif also shared that Bill Gates, Chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, had sent him a letter praising Pakistan’s ongoing anti-polio campaign and the dedication of the workers involved.

The Prime Minister conveyed Pakistan’s gratitude to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and all national and international partners for their continued support and cooperation in the health sector and for their joint efforts to eliminate polio from the country.

The Prime Minister was informed that the success of the anti-polio campaign is being greatly supported by local communities.
