Tanveer directs fixed-price fertilizer for farmers

ISLAMABAD: Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Minister for National Food Security and Research, has instructed that fertilizer be made available to farmers at regulated prices.

During a meeting held in Islamabad today to assess the supply and demand of Urea fertilizer for the Rabi season 2024-25, the Minister emphasized that Urea demand is projected to rise by 16.4% during this period.Fatima Fertilizer and ZTBL to Enhance Financial Access for Smallholder Farmers

He called for strict measures to combat hoarding and unlawful profiteering of fertilizers. Additionally, he urged that all fertilizer production units operate at maximum capacity.
The meeting also discussed various strategies and proposals regarding the import of fertilizers.
