ISLAMABAD: The Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, stated that initiatives are in progress for the country’s digital transformation.
During a meeting with the Ethiopian Ambassador, Jemal Beker Abdula, in Islamabad, she mentioned that efforts are being made to enhance digital payment systems in order to stimulate economic growth and improve efficiency.
The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to transitioning Pakistan into a cashless economy.
She noted that Ethiopia could gain from Pakistan’s expertise in Information and Communications Technology.

Additionally, she assured the Ethiopian government of Pakistan’s full support in its digitalization efforts.
The Ethiopian Ambassador expressed a strong interest in strengthening ties with Pakistan in the IT and telecommunication sectors.
He conveyed a desire to leverage Pakistan’s experience in developing ICT infrastructure.
