SSGC Disconnects 2,012 Illegal Connections

ISLAMABAD: The Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd., has shown zero tolerance against cases of gas theft over the years, and has been fighting to eliminate this evil from the society ever since the gas theft and recovery act was passed in 2016.

Recently, the Company’s Security Services and Counter Gas Theft Operations (SS&CGTO) department, in coordination with the Customer Relations Department (CRD), and Recovery Department have conducted surveys to identify areas heavily infested with gas theft.

Throughout SSGC’s franchise provinces of Sindh and Balochistan, the teams disconnected 2,012 illegal gas connections, with the highest disconnections being in Karachi totaling 1,004, followed by 818 in Quetta and 190 in Hyderabad.

The Company will continue to fight this menace known as gas theft, and strongly urges its customers to come forward and report such incidences through their helpline 1199, or by mentioning it on any of SSGC’s social media pages, or by calling/ visiting their E/Physical Kachehri and reporting the gas theft cases there.

Gas theft is a serious crime against the community and the Company will always show zero tolerance to their heinous crime.
