Pakistan Champions have added Umar Amin to their squad for WCL 2025. This will be his first appearance in the World Championship of Legends.
The team announced his selection through a social media post.“Umar Amin is locked in,” the post read.The post described him as “elegance, power, and class.”
Pakistan Champions will begin their campaign on July 18.They will face England Champions on July 18 at Edgbaston.Mohammad Hafeez will captain the side for the first time.
Younis Khan has been dropped from the squad.Misbah-ul-Haq has also been excluded this year. Sarfaraz Ahmed returns as wicketkeeper.
Rumman Raees has also earned a call-up. Veteran players have kept their spots who included Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, and Sohail Tanvir. Other players Sohaib Maqsood, Sharjeel Khan, Aamer Yamin, and Sohail Khan also feature.
The team posted the full schedule along with squad pictures. “The map is set. The missions are locked,” the caption stated and Pakistan is now ready as runners-up in WCL 2024.
They defeated Australia and West Indies in the group stage.They scored 243/4 against India and won by 68 runs.They beat England and qualified for the semi-finals.
They once again beat West Indies to reach the final.India defeated Pakistan in the final by five wickets.WCL 2025 will feature six teams of retired international cricketers.
These include Pakistan, India, Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies.A key clash will be played on July 20.Pakistan will take on India at Edgbaston in the most anticipated match of the tournament.
The Pakistan Champions will look to avenge last year’s final loss.They begin their campaign tomorrow in Birmingham.
