Cricket fans around the world have received exciting news regarding the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2025, as the tentative schedule and venue details have begun to emerge.
According to media reports, the prestigious tournament is expected to be held from 8 to 28 September in the T20 format, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi likely to host most of the matches.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has once again been chosen for its world-class infrastructure and proven track record in staging major events like the IPL and previous Asia Cups.
Initially slated to be hosted by India, the event has now been moved due to ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan. As a result, a neutral venue became necessary, and the UAE emerged as the most viable option.
One of the biggest highlights of the tournament will be a high-octane India vs Pakistan clash, expected to take place on 7 September. However, the official match schedule is yet to be confirmed by ACC.

A total of eight teams will compete for the title: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong.
The tournament will also act as a warm-up for the 2026 T20 World Cup, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February next year.
While a few other venues were briefly considered, they were dismissed due to diplomatic challenges, including India’s trade tensions with Bangladesh and the aftermath of the cancelled India-Pakistan clash during the World Championship of Legends.
Final discussions regarding the host nation and tournament schedule are currently ongoing at the ACC’s Annual General Meeting in Dhaka, held on July 24 and 25.
Earlier rumours about India’s withdrawal from the event were dismissed by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saika, who confirmed that no such decision has been taken and participation remains on track.
