Govt to Take Action Against Smuggled Vehicles

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to tighten a nose around those having smuggled vehicle and allows the custom authorities to seize vehicles with tempered or altered chassis numbers.

The vehicles with tempered or altered chassis numbers would be considered as smuggled vehicles and custom authorities would seize these vehicles.

The objective is to discourage use of smuggled vehicles in the country.

If anyone has used the tempered numbers, cut or welded and even he or she has used a material to conceal original state of the vehicle, the custom authorities would seized those vehicles considering them as smuggled ones.

The new law has allowed the custom authorities to conduct forensic investigations into vehicles with tempered or altered chassis numbers.

The objective is to curb the illegal means of smuggling vehicles into country.

This will help the legal auto industry to survive in the country.
