He also revealed that the Sindh Government is in talks with the Chinese government to set up an assembly plant for bus manufacturing in the province. Additionally, options are being considered to introduce an EV cab scheme and import an additional 100 buses to address the urgent transportation needs of the province’s population.
The provincial government is collaborating with the federal government to provide an enabling business environment and ensure foolproof security to foreign investors in order to restore their confidence in Pakistan, the senior minister said.
The Sindh government has met with high-level delegations from various Chinese investors and businessmen from different sectors, facilitating them in Dhabajee Special Economic Zone, which is also part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, to establish various projects in the near future.
“We are working to attract investment to Karachi from across the country and the world in cooperation with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SFIC). Karachi remains the best destination for doing business,” he remarked.
He also lauded the introduction of an easy visa policy for foreigners, saying the government should reconsider policies in Pakistan to make the country a livable and desirable destination for both living and investment.
Sharjeel further stated that the provincial government is working to facilitate both foreign and local businessmen and encourage them to actively engage in economic activities, including trade fairs that attract foreign delegates to the country.
The participation of foreign delegates in the exhibition of construction and allied sectors is a very positive sign, which is also aligned with the provincial government’s policy to boost the confidence of foreign investors in Pakistan.
Farhan Anis, Vice President of Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, noted that the construction sector is witnessing rapid innovation and technological upgrades to improve the standard of living and work.
