Hubco Plans to Acquire Sindh Engro Coal Mining

Hub Power Company plans to acquire Sindh Engro Coal Mining subject to regulatory approval, the company said in a statement.

The Board of Directors of The Hub Power Company Limited has authorized the Company to enter into negotiations and execute definitive agreements for the proposed acquisition of shares of Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company Limited held by a potential seller (the “Proposed Transaction”).

Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC) is Pakistan’s leading coal producer operating Pakistan’s first open-pit lignite mine in Block II of the Tharparkar area in Sindh province of Pakistan.Chinese Coal Power Plants Exploiting Imported Coal Prices

With a current annual mining capacity of 7.6 million tons, we continue to provide lignite-quality coal to power producers in Pakistan,” the company said.
