Sindh Declares Two Holidays for Eid Milad un Nabi
The Sindh government has announced public holidays on September 5 and 6 to mark Eid Milad un Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).
According to the official notification, all provincial government offices and educational institutions will remain closed for two days. This comes a day after the federal government declared September 6 as a nationwide holiday for 12th Rabi ul Awal.
Last week, Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad confirmed the date after the Rabi ul Awal moon was not sighted due to cloudy weather across much of Pakistan.
Eid Milad un Nabi is observed on the 12th of Rabi ul Awal, the third month of the Islamic calendar. The day is marked with processions, religious events, and gatherings that highlight the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In Karachi, traffic police have banned heavy vehicles on September 11 and 12 to ensure smooth movement during processions and safeguard participants.
