Shipping Activity at Port Qasim: Four Ships Berth, Nine Ships Engaged, and 115,522 Tonnes of Cargo Handled in 24 Hours

KARACHI: Shipping operations were reported at the port, with four vessels Maersk Newark, Manticore, Brave Commander, and Chemroad Orchidscheduled to load or unload containers, rice, wheat, and chemicals at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, Grain Terminal, and FOTCO Terminal, respectively, on Tuesday.

A total of nine ships were docked at Port Qasim’s berths over the past day. Among them, the container ship Maersk Newark departed this morning, while three other vessels DM Bea, Brave Commander, and Pacific ERA are expected to depart this afternoon.

The port handled 115,522 tonnes of cargo in the last 24 hours, including 81,405 tonnes of imported goods and 34,117 tonnes of exports, transported in 2,716 containers (1,450 TEUs of imports and 1,266 TEUs of exports).

Currently, 12 ships are at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Of these, three ships AU Taurus, Venus, and Marathopolis and three additional vessels CMA CGM Nabucco, Cap Andreas, and Valence, carrying palm oil, LPG, and containers are expected to dock at LCT, SSGC, and QICT, respectively, on Wednesday. Four more container ships—One Readiness, X-Press Mekong, Tirua, and MSC Positano are expected to arrive at the port on Thursday.
