Saudi Delegation Meets Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister

ISLAMABAD: Abdulrahman Al-Belushi, Deputy Minister for Mining, met with Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik on the sidelines of the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025 to discuss opportunities for closer cooperation in the energy and mineral sectors. Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, was also in attendance.

The discussion centered around enhancing bilateral relations and exploring investment prospects in Pakistan’s oil, gas, and mineral industries. Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik emphasized Pakistan’s immense potential in the energy sector, especially in minerals and mining, and reiterated the government’s dedication to supporting foreign investors through an investor-friendly policy framework.

The Saudi Deputy Minister for Mining praised the success of the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum and suggested that such forums be held annually. In response, Ali Pervaiz Malik confirmed that Pakistan has committed to making this an annual event. CEO of the Saudi Geological Survey, Mr. Abdullah Al Shamrani, extended an invitation to the Geological Survey of Pakistan to visit Saudi Arabia for knowledge sharing and technological collaboration. The Pakistani delegation expressed strong interest in the country’s energy and mineral sectors.

The talks also covered topics such as joint ventures, technology exchange, and capacity-building efforts aimed at optimizing resource extraction and fostering sustainable development.

Minister Malik highlighted Pakistan’s strong and longstanding relationship with Saudi Arabia and expressed optimism for increased Saudi investment in Pakistan’s energy and mining sectors. He also acknowledged the Saudi government’s ongoing support and assured complete cooperation from Pakistani authorities.
