Watch: Ride Snaps Mid-Air at Saudi Park, 23 Injured
A terrifying accident occurred at Green Mountain Park in Saudi Arabia’s Hada district near Taif, where a popular amusement ride broke apart while in motion, injuring at least 23 people.
The ride, known as “360 Degrees”, reportedly suffered a mechanical failure while carrying passengers. Videos shared on social media showed the moment when the central arm of the ride suddenly snapped mid-air, sending the structure crashing to the ground.
Saudi daily Okaz reported that the swing’s main arm fractured during full operation, creating panic among visitors. Witnesses described how the broken piece spun back at high speed, striking several people nearby. Others were thrown from their seats due to the impact.
Emergency teams responded quickly, with local hospitals declaring a Code Yellow to prepare for mass casualties. On-site medical teams provided first aid before transferring the injured to hospitals in Taif.
Officials have launched a formal investigation to determine the exact cause of the failure. Safety protocols and the ride’s maintenance history are expected to come under scrutiny.
