ISLAMABAD: Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has stated that reforms are underway in the energy sector.

While speaking at an event in Islamabad today, he noted that Independent Power Producers (IPPs) are working with the government to amend contract terms.

Sardar Awais Ahmad Leghari also mentioned that distribution companies (DISCOs) will be privatized, with plans to privatize three of them by the end of next year.

The Minister added that the National Transmission Company is being reorganized into three separate entities, with one designated for overseeing future projects.
