Islamabad: The federal government of Pakistan continues its efforts to provide relief to the public, announcing yet another reduction in petroleum prices. Following the directives of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the benefits of the price decrease are being passed on to the public.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has been reduced by 2.07 rupees per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel has decreased by 3.40 rupees per liter.

Additionally, the price of light diesel has been lowered by 1.03 rupees per liter, and the price of kerosene has been cut by 3.57 rupees per liter.

With this reduction, the new price of petrol has decreased from 249.10 rupees per liter to 247.03 rupees per liter, while the new price of diesel has dropped from 249.69 rupees per liter to 246.29 rupees per liter.

The price of kerosene is now 154.90 rupees per liter, down from 158.47 rupees per liter, and the price of light diesel oil has fallen from 141.93 rupees per liter to 140.90 rupees per liter.

The notification states that from June 1, 2024, to October 1, 2024, the overall reduction in the price of petrol will be 21.23 rupees per liter, while diesel will see a reduction of 18.67 rupees per liter. The new prices will take effect from October 1.
