Punjab CM invites Huawei to invest in Pakistan

BEIJING: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited Huawei Technologies in the Longgang district of Shanghai to explore avenues for collaboration.

During the visit, an agreement was reached to work with Huawei to transform Lahore into Pakistan’s first state-of-the-art smart city. Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended an invitation to Huawei to invest in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab, and the company assured its full cooperation in establishing an assembly and manufacturing plant in the province.Huawei develops training program with cooperation of SIFC

The Chief Minister held discussions with Huawei’s President of Government Affairs, Mr. Wang Chengdong, to explore proposals and recommendations for turning Lahore into a modern digital city.

The talks included topics such as e-commerce, ecosystem development, and the digitization of the health and education sectors. Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed keen interest in Huawei’s health and education initiatives and shared insights on Punjab’s Safe City Project.
