PTA resumes granting class license for Data services
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reinstated the issuance of Class Licenses for Data Services in Pakistan.
According to a statement by PTA, VPN service providers are now required to secure a Class License for Data Services in order to offer VPN and related services.

The statement further clarified that the reinstatement of the Class License for Data does not apply to the provision of Internet Services. Additionally, it was specified that Local Loop Licensees are allowed to provide any class of licensed services, including VPN services, but must first obtain separate approval from PTA.
