ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has praised the operations of the A.Q. Khan Hospital Trust, which offers free medical and healthcare services to underserved and marginalized communities.
He shared these sentiments during a meeting with a delegation from Dr. A.Q. Khan Hospital Trust, led by Dr. Dina Khan, daughter of the late Mohsin-e-Pakistan, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, in Islamabad.
The President assured Dr. Dina Khan, Chairperson of the Abdul Qadeer Khan Hospital Trust, of his support for the Trust and lauded the generous contributions made by individuals for the vital cause of providing essential free healthcare to those in need.
During the meeting, Dr. Dina Khan informed the President about the hospital’s role in delivering medical services to the public.
She also updated the President on certain challenges faced by the Trust, including issues with financial mismanagement and misuse of the Trust’s funds by some former trustees.
The President remarked that the entire nation owes a debt of gratitude to Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan for his contributions and assured that the issues would be addressed.
