PM launches week-long anti-polio drive in 115 districts
LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched a special anti-polio initiative aimed at the complete elimination of polio from the country. He inaugurated the campaign across 115 districts nationwide, with the goal of vaccinating 30 million children under five years old against this debilitating illness.
Starting tomorrow, a seven-day anti-polio campaign will commence, during which approximately 286,000 polio workers will visit homes to administer polio drops to children.Ishaq Dar detailed interaction with British Pakistani Members of Parliament
At the inauguration ceremony in Islamabad this evening, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to the partners and supportive international organizations working with the government to eradicate polio from Pakistan. He expressed hope that the federal government, in conjunction with provincial governments and partners, will achieve the complete eradication of polio from the country.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the efforts to eradicate polio will be successful. He praised the work of federal and provincial officials, polio workers, and security personnel in combating the poliovirus.
He urged parents to ensure that their children under five receive polio drops to safeguard them from lifelong disability and requested full cooperation with the polio teams for the well-being of their children. On this occasion, the Prime Minister also administered polio drops to children.
