Addressing concerns over reduced gas supply to domestic consumers, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for long-term reforms in the gas supply system to permanently resolve these issues. He reiterated that ensuring gas availability for domestic consumers is the government’s top priority.
During the meeting, officials reported that surplus RLNG is currently available, resulting in improved gas load management compared to the previous year.
It was highlighted that gas load-shedding has reduced this year, with domestic consumers receiving gas daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Gas supply to the power sector is also being managed as per demand.
The meeting further revealed that SNGPL and SSGC have implemented online dashboards to handle consumer complaints efficiently, achieving resolution rates of 93% and 79%, respectively. Additionally, all gas fields in the country are operating at full capacity.
The session was attended by Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal, and senior government officials.
