Petrol Price up Rs 1 Per Litre in June 2025

Islamabad: The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs 1 per litre effective from June 1, 2025/
However, it has maintained the price of high speed diesel to be widely used in transport and agriculture sectors.
On May 31, 2025, the Government of Pakistan’s Finance Division issued a press release and announced new prices for petroleum products, effective June 1, 2025.
Finance ministry said that these prices were based on recommendations from OGRA and other relevant ministries.
The price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) has been maintained at Rs. 254.64 per litre.

The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs. 1.00, from Rs. 252.63 to Rs. 253.63 per litre.
According to oil industry, the ex-depot sale prices of petrol and diesel were likely to witness a marginal reduction from June 1 in line with fluctuation of global oil prices.
The prices of kerosene and light diesel oil (LDO) were also set to witness a slight upward adjustments.
The government is focusing more on collecting petroleum levy on petroleum products to redirect to subsidize electricity prices.
It had earlier decided to fund Rs 1.70 per unit subsidy for the consumers of electricity by redirecting PL collection.
It also later decided to redirect PL collection to fund canal and road projects in Balochistan province.
The government has already decided increase rate of petroleum levy up to Rs90 per litre on the sale of oil products.
At present, the government is charging Rs78 per litre in petroleum levy on petrol and Rs77 per litre on diesel.
