Petrol and Diesel Prices Likely to Rise from July 16

Islamabad: Petroleum prices in Pakistan may witness a hike from July 16, 2025. Petrol and diesel prices are likely to to go up to Rs6 per litre, according to projected estimates.

As per official projections, the ex-depot price of petrol (PMG) may increase by Rs6.60 to Rs273.39 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) may go up by Rs5.27 to Rs278.25 per litre.

This anticipated hike is primarily due to fuluctuation in global oil prices and exchange rate adjustments. The price of petrol in international markets has registered a premium of $9.68 per barrel, while diesel is at $3.25 per barrel to cause hike in local prices .

Ex-Refinery Prices (Rs/Litre):

  • Petrol (PMG): Rs169.97 (↑ Rs4.67 | 2.8%)
  • High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Rs178.56 (↑ Rs1.32 | 0.7%)
  • Kerosene Oil: Rs152.50 (↓ Rs3.74 | -2.4%)
  • Light Diesel Oil (LDO): Rs145.71 (↓ Rs2.23 | -1.5%)

Ex-Depot Sale Prices (Rs/Litre):

  • Petrol (PMG): Rs273.39 (↑ Rs6.60 | 2.5%)
  • High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Rs278.25 (↑ Rs5.27 | 1.9%)
  • Kerosene Oil: Rs180.69 (↓ Rs3.74 | -2.0%)
  • Light Diesel Oil (LDO): Rs167.38 (↓ Rs2.23 | -1.3%)

Local Price Basis

  • Petroleum Levy (PL) and Customs: Rs78.02 on petrol and Rs77.01 on diesel.
  • Inland Freight Equalization Margin (IFEM): Rs8.89 on petrol and Rs6.04 on diesel.
  • Dollar impact: Rs3.00/litre on petrol and Rs2.00/litre on diesel.
