Pakistan’s food sector exports surge by 13.8%
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s food industry exports have experienced growth, attributed to the initiatives of the government and the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
During the current fiscal year to date, the nation’s overall food exports rose by 13.8%, amounting to $3.96 billion.
IT Exports Surge 27% YoY to $298mn in August 2024
As reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, rice exports in the first half of this fiscal year climbed by 14.50%, totaling $1.87 billion. Sugar exports surged to 632,804 tons in this period, compared to 33,101 tons in the previous year.
Meat exports recorded a notable rise of 3.64%, while vegetable exports, especially onions, grew by 1.71%.
