Pakistani Squash Star Suspended After On-Court Misconduct

Pakistani junior squash player Mehwish Ali has been suspended for six months by the Asian Squash Federation due to inappropriate behavior during the recent Asian Junior Championship.

The disciplinary action followed an incident during her Round of 16 match against a player from Hong Kong. According to officials, after losing the match, Mehwish allegedly made an offensive gesture and refused to shake hands with her opponent—actions that were deemed unsportsmanlike.

Following a formal review, the federation decided to impose a six-month ban, stating that such conduct contradicts the values of fair play and respect expected at international tournaments.
