Addressing concerns about developments in Syria, she warned that the ongoing conflict could further destabilize the region and strengthen terrorist groups. She urged the international community to work towards reducing tensions, promoting peace, and ensuring the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Syria.
The spokesperson also condemned the continued confiscation of properties belonging to Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). This includes recent cases where the properties of 13 individuals in the Kishtwar District were seized.
“These actions are part of a systematic effort to harass and intimidate Kashmiris, suppress dissent, and punish them for their political beliefs. We call on Indian authorities to cease this campaign of property seizures and honor their international obligations as an occupying power,” she added.
Ms. Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to providing political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people in their struggle for a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Discussing recent diplomatic engagements, she highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s two-day visit to Saudi Arabia (December 3-4) to attend the One Water Summit. During the summit, he emphasized the urgent need for global leadership and collective action to tackle the water crisis, which poses an existential threat to nations worldwide. The spokesperson also noted the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to Mashhad, Iran, where he participated in the 28th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Council of Ministers. In his address, DPM Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to the ECO Charter and described the ECO Vision 2025 as a vital framework for enhancing regional collaboration among member states. He also signed the ECO Charter of Clean Energy Center, focusing on research and development in renewable energy to combat climate change.
