The Prime Minister of Pakistan met with the High Commissioner of Bangladesh, H.E. Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan, in Islamabad on Friday, underscoring both countries’ resolve to enhance cooperation across political, economic, and cultural domains.

Emphasis on sustained engagement

The prime minister recalled his recent exchanges with Dr. Mohammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, most recently during the D-8 Summit in Cairo, and welcomed the revival of bilateral mechanisms between the two nations. He stressed the importance of maintaining momentum to expand trade, political dialogue, and people-to-people contacts.

The Bangladeshi envoy briefed the prime minister on measures being taken by both governments to facilitate travel, trade, and connectivity. He expressed readiness to work toward strengthening what he called the “historic bonds of friendship” between the two South Asian neighbours.
