Islamabad: In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025, overseas Pakistanis sent a record $8.8 billion, resulting in a 38.8% increase in remittances compared to the first quarter of fiscal year 2024. In just three months, Pakistanis abroad sent more dollars than the total amount from the IMF’s three-year program.

During September 2024, remittances amounted to $2.8 billion, showing a year-on-year growth of 29.0%. The monthly average of workers’ remittances over the three months stood at $2.92 billion.IT Exports Surge 27% YoY to $298mn in August 2024

In September, $680 million was sent from Saudi Arabia and $560 million from the United Arab Emirates. In total, Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia sent $2.15 billion, followed by $1.70 billion from the UAE, $1.34 billion from the UK, $1.09 billion from the European Union, $890 million from the USA, and $860 million from other Gulf countries.
