ISLAMABAD: The inaugural Overseas Pakistanis Convention is set to begin in Islamabad tomorrow (Sunday).
The event aims to acknowledge the valuable role that overseas Pakistanis play in strengthening the national economy.
To honor their contributions, the government has decided to treat overseas participants of the convention as state guests. Special measures have been put in place to warmly receive them at the airports.
This convention will serve as a unified forum where overseas Pakistanis, government officials, and national organizations can engage under one roof. To support this initiative, various government departments are establishing help desks at the venue to offer guidance, services, and information in one centralized location. In a video message, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain reaffirmed the government’s resolve to ensure the well-being of overseas citizens and address their issues effectively.
He highlighted that this is the first event of its kind and emphasized that the voices and suggestions of overseas Pakistanis will be heard and valued.
He further noted that overseas Pakistanis have consistently uplifted Pakistan’s image around the world through their dedication and hard work.
Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis, Awn Chaudhry, also praised the contributions of the diaspora, stating that overseas Pakistanis have a deep emotional connection with their homeland.
