New Wage Structure Introduced for Sindh Workers

Workers in Sindh will soon see a rise in their monthly pay, as the provincial government has approved an increase in minimum wages to Rs. 40,000, starting July 2025. A notification issued this week under the Sindh Minimum Wages Act, 2015, confirms the change.
The updated policy introduces different salary levels based on work categories. Semi-skilled workers will receive Rs. 41,380, while skilled labourers must be paid Rs. 49,628 per month. Those classified as highly skilled will now earn Rs. 51,745.
Additionally, the hourly minimum wage has been set at Rs. 192, applicable to all institutions regardless of sector.
This adjustment follows growing concerns over rising living costs and aims to ensure fair compensation for workers. The last revision to the minimum wage in Sindh was Rs. 37,000.
Government officials have stated that improving wage standards is essential for social equity and economic stability. Employers are now responsible for implementing the changes and could face penalties for non-compliance.
