Yahama Increases Prices of Motorbikes

Staff Report

KARACHI — Motorcycle prices in Pakistan continue to rise as Yamaha Motor Pakistan and D.S. Motors (makers of Unique motorcycles) have hiked prices. They follow Atlas Honda and Pak Suzuki have already revised rates after new taxation measures in the Federal Budget 2025-26, including the imposition of the NEV (New Energy Vehicle) levy.

Yamaha has increased the prices which are effective effective July 1, 2025.

  • YB125Z: Rs429,000 (includes Rs65,441 in sales tax and Rs4,057 NEV levy)
  • YB125Z DX (Red/Black/Gray): Rs459,500
  • YBR125 (Red/Gray/Black): Rs471,500
  • YBR125G (Black): Rs490,500
  • YBR125G (Matt): Rs493,500 — now the most expensive model

Meanwhile, Unique Motorcycles raised the price of its UD-70cc variants by Rs3,000, effective July 18. They attributed the hike to rising import duties, higher production costs, and recent tax policies introduced in the budget.

Earlier this month, Atlash Honda and Pak Suzuki increased the prices of motorbikes.

The government has implemented newly implemented NEV levy, as part of the Finance Act 2025, which applies to all internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. They also included motorcycles—leading to price surges across categories.

However, the policy exempts:

  • Electric and hybrid vehicles
  • Vehicles manufactured for export
  • Diplomatic mission vehicles
  • International organisations with diplomatic status

Analysts have warned these hikes could dampen sales in Pakistan which is already price-sensitive motorcycle market. The two-wheelers are a basic necessity for many households.
