MDCAT Retake Exam Successfully Conducted Across Sindh

ISLAMABAD: The MDCAT Retake Exam was successfully conducted across Sindh on December 8, 2024. Following directives from the Honourable Sindh High Court, Karachi, IBA University Sukkur was entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the retake exam throughout the province.

In a statement, PM&DC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj informed the media that the exam took place in seven centers across five divisions: Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, and Larkana. He stated that PM&DC designated officers to oversee the examination at all centers upon the request of IBA University Sukkur. The test began simultaneously at 11:55 a.m. across Sindh and lasted three hours and 30 minutes, concluding without any issues.

Dr. Taj personally visited examination centers in Karachi during the test and met with Vice Chancellor of IBA University Sukkur, Mr. Sakandar Asif Sheikh, and the Secretary of Health Sindh. PM&DC officers were present at all centers to ensure smooth operations.

He also highlighted that provincial, divisional, and district authorities, along with security agencies including the FIA and IB, were deployed to provide necessary support. IBA Sukkur implemented robust measures to ensure the seamless conduct of the examination.

Additionally, a high-level vigilance committee meeting was held a day prior to the exam to review preparations and security arrangements. Key participants included the Secretary of Health Sindh, Secretary of Universities and Boards, Special Secretary of the Home Department, Vice Chancellor of IBA University Sukkur, and PM&DC’s Director of Examinations. The meeting focused on improving coordination, managing logistics, and addressing candidate concerns.

Prof. Taj emphasized the importance of collaboration among provincial authorities, educational institutions, and examination bodies to uphold high standards in medical education.

He reaffirmed PM&DC’s commitment to ensuring transparency and uniformity in future examinations nationwide. A dedicated committee of experts is actively working on developing a comprehensive plan for upcoming tests, prioritizing fairness and consistency in the evaluation process.
